transparencies

Live fish awaiting their fate, swimming in the tank at the Asian Market.

The more I study this shot the more I see intriguing layers and transparent shapes superimposed over one another. I just shot into the tank (acrylic, I believe) and the light and water and camera did the rest. :-)

"I'm getting bad vibes about this. Are you sure the sign said '. pet .' and not 'appetite' ?"

22 Jun 2012 6:59am

@Ronnie 2¢: Cute remark ! ;-) For sure this market is ALL about EATING the creatures they sell. And if there was any doubt, there is the robust sound of the whack of knives and cleavers behind the counters. (I didn't really want to look.)

Evelyne Dubos from Le Mans, France

Nice golden tones. A live & well stocked meat safe... :-)

this is quite beautiful dulcie...the colors are subtle, and i agree with you about the transparency, layers, and the reflections, water, all make for a great composition...it is sad though, awaiting their fate...i wonder sometimes about all the unemployed people if we all stopped eating animals?...what a change it would make in our lives...nice series at the market d.,...
