Beautiful light falling on the porch bench. I love the porches on so many American houses!

Umm, confused of Reading here...A private house, with a porch...in a parking lot? Or is this a commercial premises?

22 Aug 2011 5:52am

@CElliottUK: Danville is rather quaint...lots of funky little buildings ranging from somewhat old, to truly old, to 'made-to-look' old. This building is used commercially, and, yes, that is a parking lot !! :-)

I find myself following Chris' train of thought here but it all holds together beautifully in that rich, dark toning and the delicious chocolate flavor . .

It's incredible how your shot offers some similarities with E. Hopper's paintings.
Many of his painting shows almost empty places, with this green hint which is mark. Clever.

22 Aug 2011 7:57am

@Florence: Yes, I love what I can learn from Hopper's paintings. And from a photographer I've seen recently, www.toddhido.com, about shots of buildings, especially at night. I will probably try to emulate him now and then to see how he makes his images. :-)
