Frightening terrible & terrific image, Dulcie, some homeless people in my area have this overwhelming face, always heartbreaking to imagine how they fell down that much..... as you title suggests.

Very strong . He is looking in another world !
23 May 2011 8:16am
Perhaps a war veteran that never readjusted after that terrible experience. It's difficult to tell how old he really has, his experiences have etched his face beyond his years

Terrifying portrait, I mean extraordinary rendering on his face and wringles along with a very tough and expressive stare. You sepia is really superb and suits so well. A ver successful portrait dear ! 5 stars, of course.

Wow, that's the look of despair - you captured this perfectly.
Wonderful, so deep portrait . This man reminds me of my Vladimir, and imagine, yesterday I saw him again with new haircut . He looks so different, so better :)
23 May 2011 1:52pm
@MARIANA: Yes, I agree...I re-visted the 'Vladimir' images and these men do have some commonality.
I hope you show us a shot of Vladimir with a haircut, soon. :-)
There, but for the grace of God, could be any one of us! Well seen and captured Dulcie! ;-)

23 May 2011 6:54pm
Intriguing face.....guess he has a lot to tell.....
23 May 2011 6:57pm
Did you ask if you could take his picture and post it on the internet?
23 May 2011 7:17pm
@JOEMULLIGAN: Nope. I was in the car at a stop light...he was in another world.
And, there is some legal info about it being okay to take pictures of people in public places.
However, I always respect anyone who says they do not want to be photographed or posted. :-)

Glad again for the commentary re. did he know, and your sweet answer. It is a hard one. What a face, life, character and what worlds has he seen? I am just so drawn to him--yet you were driving by. How many of us could even see him on the street or speak or offer a kind word. Whew, that is a Life cover shot if you ask me.
