Anita from West Nottingham, United States

Wow! Most interesting! How did you achieve this look?

9 Feb 2011 11:30am

@Anita: I adjusted levels, did some heightening and strengthening by dodging and burning, turned it black and white with Silver Efex Pro, and added a tonal filter with Color Efex Pro, and probably sharpened it here and there. (Luckily I could remember how I got there. Usually, by the time I finish developing an image it's pretty hard to recreate what I did. ;-) I always appreciate your comments Anita.

Sunder from Chennai, India

Hi Dulcie! It's good to see you out in the country again. I remember very tasteful shots of barbed wire and leaves. I love the ghostliness of this image, and that broken fence rail on the right is so perfect. You have a special gift for black and white, I think.

It's a total tangled mess, but somehow the toning rescues it - Nik Silver Efex?

Dulcie: Thanks for explaining the process. The result is just lovely--a nice mix of darks and lights, sharp and soft, textured and smooth. I hope you try more of this. I know what you mean about forgetting all the steps taken in post processing!

Nice contrast and I like the depth of field here - probably needed due to the many elements in the frame. Nicely done!

Morris Taub (momo) from Montpellier, France

an image after my own heart...great composition, again...and i read your workfow D.,...since you have color efex pro, try hitting an image with 'tonal contrast' as a final step to kinda bring up detail and sharpen areas where appropriate for your work...amazing filter...
