oh, wow Dulcie! you have created a really interesting photograph. at first glance it is so subtle and rich, but as i look at the individual details it becomes increasingly vibrant. the green foliage really works in contrasting the warm tones and the slashes of white across the tomato add a little electricity to the mix. it's very nice!

28 Nov 2010 6:53pm

JOEMULLIGAN from BURNSVILLE, NC, United States

oh i like this very much, especially the light on the stem that reaches toward the viewer in its electric surreal gesture.....and the bronze/bloody color of the tomato (is that a tomato or a sumi wrestler?) matches the color of the cutting board so perfectly. there's something frightening/disturbing about this image that gives it its enormous power. those cracks call to/mirror the slots in the board, i think. and the leaves are amazingly detailed.....seems they have a life of their own, but what kind of life we'll never know. this incredibly powerful image reminds of some of the last macro flower shots you gave us where the beauty of the flower was less evident than some kind of frightening ambience, so that the pistils and stamens looked likemedieval torture instruments. this is great art, dulcie.

That is unbelievable...really fine background and colors. Is that developed??? you know what I mean? It is the most zingy shot and leaves and tomato almost look fake they are so real...wow!!! That consumes my vision and calls me to sit with it for a long time like some Dutch painting...is it memorex?
