wedding party: brother of the groom

Safari West, Santa Rosa, CA ~

This is shot after the wedding, as are ALL my wedding shots in this series. This wedding took place at a park in the wilds of Santa Rosa, California in an African-like park called Safari West.
The whole theme of the wedding was very casual and relaxed. After the ceremony, the quests were treated to a tour of the outback in jeeps to see the animals in a natural habit. It was one of the best weddings I've ever attended.

An image that marks a reading! Smoke. The hand with fingers that are touching each other. Are in motion ... waiting for the next pipada! A face with stubble. Frowning!.
The shadow of the straw hat sunglasses covering filled with reflections of other lives. In the end a good hat adorned with a red ribbon! All without raising his eyes from the screen. A Perfect Circle. and an excellent portrait Dulcie! Cheers Adela

Is this his wedding get up?!

@Anita: The whole theme of the wedding was very casual and relaxed. After the ceremony the quests were treated to a tour of the outback in jeeps to see the animals in a natural habit. (The wedding was held in a nature reserve called Safari West.) One of the best weddings I've ever attended. :-)

His thoughts are clear....... How the hell do I get out of this. Brilliant image treatment.

21 Oct 2010 11:53pm

@Michael: This is the BROTHER of the groom...the groom seemed happy with his lot ! ;-)

This guy is great. Definitely my favorite image from this series so far. I like the blur of his hands (and is that a doobie he's holding?). And there's something raw about your processing which makes the image look closer than close that makes us feel like we're going inside his mind.

As a long-time friend of the subject, I commend you on doing the impossible: capturing the essence of a complex, intellectual artist and creative scientist, as it lives uniquely in one very contemporary man. Cudos!

24 Oct 2010 11:37pm

@Diane Gibbs: So glad for your comment....we are on the same wave length re: what I was trying to convey about Dave with this shot. Thanks for "getting" it! :-)
