abandoned but not alone . . .

Port Costa, CA ~ ACANTHUS

Another abandoned building in this small town, but the plant thrives.
For this post, I merged one color image and the same image again, in black and white, to get the depth of color I was looking for.

NIKON D90 1/320 second F/9.0 ISO 500 202 mm (35mm equiv.)

this is an interesting technique... so it would seem that merging the B&W image with the color image effectively bumps up the lights and darks ?
