Danville CA ~ Does anyone know this flower?

I'm in awe of the masterful design and placement of the stamens and pistil !! I photographed this flower yesterday, using camera raw, a macro lens, manual settings, and a tripod. And I think it is an improvement over last years rather less successful attempts to capture this little gem. I took a LOT of shots .... guess I'll post them until I get tired of them. ;-)

oenothera berlandii... AKA Mexican Evening Primrose. this is one of my favorite flowers. it spreads like crazy. i had it growing all over my nursery. it was knee deep in pink foam of flowers. it was so beautiful people would burst into tears. looks stunning when mixed with blue lobelia and california poppies!

Lovely Mexican evening primrose, there is a yellow evening primrose, too. You are superb at catching the veins and all the x y chromosomes as someone said. I am tearing up just remembering those in our HMB modular and at Space when we first met and drove up the hills of Berkeley. You are always a catalyst to my heart. Thanks for the clean shots!!!!
