"Taking my picture? You'll need a release form!"

I'm finding these critters even more reluctant to be photographed than humans... as soon as they see my camera, they show me their behinds or walk away!

Herd animals are curious by nature and they might come to you if you kneel down and hold still. Avoid direct eye contact by using darting sideways glances. best...jerry

@ordinaryimages: Ah, a good technique...I had no idea! You never know what kind of great tips for taking better photos will be offered on AM3. I can't wait to go on another shoot and try it. The rancher who had these animals had just purchased a 2000lb. Bull and invited me to take pics. Didn't get anything worthwhile...but now I could give it another shot. :-)

Good evening, Dulcie,
very nice. I like cows. They have very soft nose that I like to fondle. Dear greetings Christel

marc battault from clermont ferrand, France

is impressive when you look straight in the eye, but you know that cows have a vision magnifying compared to us, that's what scares them, they see as through a magnifying glass!

8 Sep 2009 7:21pm

@marc battault: This is fascinating information....no wonder they turn away from me! I'm learning so much about cows today! Thanks so much.
