martinez 4: in memory of . . .

Posted by
DULCIE (Danville, CA, United States) on 15 May 2009 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

I salute my mother; she loved beauty, the color magenta, and she loved me. She died before she knew that photography would become my passion and my creative outlet. With the genes I inherited from her, I carry on the quest for beauty.

"Ice Plant Ground Cover"

An afternoon in Martinez offered up a wildlife preserve, trains, marina, funky town, oil refinery and tanker trains, people feeding ducks and flying kites, and much much more. A mother-lode of material for my new telephoto lens.

A lovely tribute to your mother. I learned to love flowers from my mother, who always had cut flowers in the house.
