Forget the cala-lily - this is the plant to photograph. 4 Jul 2009 6:16pm @Stephen Phillips: Well, I like 'em both, but the Lily of the Nile (Agapanthus) is the one blooming all around me right now...kind of 'fills up my senses' as the song goes. There are so many Agapanthus around me now that I have occasion to shoot them from all views. The macro lens certainly opens my eyes. What a joy! @Aurore: Thanks for stopping by...and I am now enjoying your portfolio as well! Sarah from Suisse, SwitzerlandLovely title, gorgeous fig-like colour and shape with blue jewels dotting the background... exceptionally well composed, Dulcie. 5 Jul 2009 2:07pm Ann from United StatesThis is poem-worthy. Some take-home beyond beauty with this. Letting go of what we recognize as beautiful and worthy seems like uncompensated loss...until we open ourselves to the new. I had no idea the agapanthus bud casing was so gorgeous! 6 Jul 2009 3:57pm Tammy-Cricket from somewhere out there, United StatesOh, this is just stunning! What beautiful colors. 7 Jul 2009 2:20am Jannet from Sommelsdijk, NetherlandsWonderful image! The angle is very well chosen. Great colors too! 7 Jul 2009 10:28am Betsy Tuel from United StatesAmazing photo. Who knew that lilies of the nile could be so beautiful as they open!!! I just looked at your recent postings and enjoyed them all. You are doing fabulous photography Dulcie! We have been on vacation so it was fun to catch up on your postings. 7 Jul 2009 11:33pm wendy at the shore from United StatesWe never know from which perspective we see each other: one's beauty, beginnings, best side, protected parts, budding, hopes, challenges to let it all go, falling out of a "cocoon", just being gorgeous when no one even notices us. What a shot...makes the dead heading attitudes we often have about plants and blooms one to rethink. I might not have noticed this at all until its unfolding and wished it would shed the rest. Amazing, my own responses to this. Echoes some of Ann K. Love your growing edges, D. 2 Aug 2009 10:21am |
