whitePosted by Dulcie (Danville, CA, United States) on 20 June 2009 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. The Agapanthus (Lily of the Nile) are coming into season in a big way. I had to take this season's first white one....and I'm sure there will be more to follow. Your critique of my photos is most appreciated. . . . . The combination of starkness and "flower beauty" is powerful. Another thing I like about it is it "movement" or "motion," something I try for often too.....the way the image (the light) sweeps down and across from top right to lower left. Do you know what I mean? Woops. Hold the phone. I was just thinking that this was a major element of my favorite of your pictures, and went back to find its name so I could sound intelligent.....and I see that its name is "movement." Well i guess that answers that. You were there way ahead of me. I'm not surprised!!! 20 Jun 2009 1:51pm @JOEMULLIGAN: This was fun to follow your internal "conversation" and watch it come to its conclusion. I like it. :-) And, thank you for your positive remarks. I like that, too! Sarah from Suisse, SwitzerlandI love that you caught the wind in this photo. Very, very touching. 20 Jun 2009 2:20pm ordinaryimages from Kentucky Bluegrass, United StatesImplied motion. best...jerry 20 Jun 2009 6:15pm @ordinaryimages: I always wonder when I do a B&W shot if there will be a "Jerry" critique! I look forward to your 'specialist's' point of view, good or bad...with great pleasure! Anita from West Nottingham, United StatesLovely composition! Looks like there is a breeze blowing in from the right. Nicely done. 4 Jul 2009 10:44am |
